The bakery

Anne Marie has been baking properly for over 30 years. Four bakeries across Berkshire, a loyal customer base, and a reputation built on doing things the right way: fresh, handcrafted, from scratch, every single day. We supply our own shops and a growing wholesale operation serving cafes, restaurants, hotels, and farm shops across the region.

This is a traditional craft bakery. No shortcuts, no pre-mixes, no compromise.

The Role

5 days a week, for a total of 22.5 hours per week

This role starts at 2.30 am and finish at 7.00 am, Monday to Friday.

The ideal candidate must have their own transport as public transport are not working at that time.

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sandwich Maker to join our team in a fast-paced bakery environment. As a Sandwich Maker, you will play a crucial role in food preparation, ensuring that every sandwich filling is crafted to perfection while adhering to food safety standards. Your ability to manage time effectively and produce delicious Sandwiches, Salads and Rolls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble sandwiches according to standard recipes
• Ensure all food items are fresh, properly stored, and handled in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
• Assist in the preparation of other menu items as needed, demonstrating versatility in the kitchen.
• Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and report any shortages to management.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation or a similar role within a culinary setting is preferred but not essential.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
• Basic maths skills for accurate measurement of ingredients and handling transactions.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is essential.
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly disposition towards customers and colleagues.
• A willingness to learn and adapt within a dynamic team environment.
